Jan Oberg is a peace and future researcher, active since 1975, and an art photographer since 2009. He is the co-founder and director of the TFF Transnational Foundation for Peace & Future Research. Oberg serves as a visiting professor of peace studies in various countries and has decades of experience as a conflict analyst and mediator in conflict and war zones.

His work includes fieldwork in regions such as Somalia/Somaliland, Burundi, Georgia, Iraq, former Yugoslavia, Iran, and Syria.
