Janelle Shane is an optics research scientist, artificial intelligence researcher, writer, and public speaker. Currently self-employed as a Laser Scientist since 2025, she possesses a cross-disciplinary background in imaging, macroscale free-space optics, and nanoscale optics. Previously, she served as a Senior Scientist at Meadowlark Optics from May 2023 to June 2025 and as a Research Scientist at Boulder Nonlinear Systems from October 2014 to July 2023.
