His career began as a clerk on the floor of the NYSE, progressing through roles at a New York City hedge fund, and leading arbitrage trading at Carlson Capital, L.P. He later co-founded an arbitrage fund, Ranger Arbitrage, LLC, where he served as Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager.
