James Story is an American private consultant and former diplomat. He served as the United States ambassador to Venezuela starting in 2018.

Currently, Story is a Founding Partner at Global Frontier Advisors L.P., a Senior Advisor at DináMica Americas, and an Advisor at Rhgm. He also serves as a Board Member and Public Speaker, with a focus on Latin America to Africa. Earlier in his career, he worked as an International Affairs Analyst at Ms Now.
