Biography

James R. Stoner Jr. is the Hermann Moyse, Jr. Professor of Political Science and Director of the Eric Voegelin Institute in the Department of Political Science at Louisiana State University (LSU), a position he has held since 1988. He specializes in political theory, English common law, and American constitutionalism.

Prior to his tenure at LSU, Stoner was an instructor in Politics and Public Policy at Goucher College from 1983 to 1988.
