James Harold Stock is an American economist, professor of economics, and the vice provost for climate and sustainability at Harvard University. He holds a B.S. in physics from Yale University (1978), an M.S. in Statistics (1982), and a Ph.D. in Economics (1983) from the University of California-Berkeley.
Stock is the co-author of "Introduction to Econometrics," a widely used undergraduate textbook, and co-editor of the Brookings Papers on Economic Activity.
