Biography

Jaime Harrison is an American lawyer and politician known for his leadership within the Democratic Party. He served as the chair of the Democratic National Committee from 2021 to 2025. Prior to this national role, Harrison chaired the South Carolina Democratic Party from 2013 to 2017, marking him as the first African American to hold that position. In 2020, he ran for the United States Senate in South Carolina against Senator Lindsey Graham.
