Biography

Jackie Payne is a lawyer and policy advocate with 25 years of experience dedicated to advancing gender justice. She applies an intersectional and cross-movement perspective to her work, which began in South Africa focusing on gender equity, women's health, and economic justice.

Her career in the U.S. includes serving as a staff attorney at the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago. Driven by a desire for systemic change, Payne joined the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund in Washington, D.C.
