Jack Norman Rakove, born on June 4, 1947, in Chicago, is an American historian, author, and professor. He is the son of political science Professor Milton L. Rakove.
Rakove earned his AB degree from Haverford College in 1968 and his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1975, where he studied under Bernard Bailyn.
He also pursued studies at the University of Edinburgh from 1966 to 1967.
