Biography

Dame Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern is a New Zealand politician who served as the 40th Prime Minister of New Zealand and leader of the Labour Party from 2017 to 2023. She was a Member of Parliament (MP) from 2008 to 2023, representing Mount Albert from 2017. Born in Hamilton in 1980, Ardern joined the Labour Party at 17 and graduated from the University of Waikato in 2001.
