Isabel Schnabel is a German economist and an Executive Board Member at the European Central Bank (ECB), a role she has held since 2020. At the ECB, she is dedicated to maintaining price stability within the euro area. Prior to her current role, Schnabel was a passionate economist who transitioned into central banking after many years in academia.
She is currently on leave from the University of Bonn, where she serves as a Professor of Financial Economics.
