Hyung Won Chung is an AI Research Scientist at Meta, where he is part of the Superintelligence Labs team in Menlo Park, California. He joined Meta in 2025.

Prior to his current role, Chung was a Research Scientist at OpenAI from February 2023 to August 2025. Before that, he served as a Senior Research Scientist with Google Brain at Google, a position he held from October 2019 to February 2023. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
