Biography

Hyun Song Shin is a distinguished South Korean economic theorist and financial economist, recognized for his focus on global games. He is slated to become the 28th Governor of the Bank of Korea on April 21, 2026. Prior to this, Shin served as the Economic Adviser and Head of Research of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) from May 2014 to March 2026, where he was also a member of the BIS Executive Committee.
