Hideyo Hanazumi is a Japanese politician who has served as the Governor of Niigata Prefecture since his initial election in June 2018. Before assuming the governorship, Hanazumi held significant public service roles, including Vice Governor of Niigata and vice commandant in the Japan Coast Guard.
In his bid for Governor, Hanazumi received support from the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Komeito.
