Prof. Henry Gao is a Professor of Law at Singapore Management University (SMU) and a Dongfang Scholar Chair Professor at Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade. With law degrees from three continents, he began his career as the first Chinese lawyer at the WTO Secretariat.

Before joining SMU in late 2007, Prof. Gao taught law at the University of Hong Kong, where he also served as the Deputy Director of the East Asian International Economic Law and Policy Program.
