Henri Stern (1902–1988) was a German-born art historian who spent his career in France. He studied art history at Heidelberg University, Leipzig University, and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where he earned his doctorate in 1929 with a dissertation on Munich Baroque sculpture. He held museum posts in Germany, including at the Bavarian National Museum and the Frankfurt museum of decorative arts, before being dismissed in 1933 due to anti-Jewish laws.
