Helene Cooper is a Liberian-born American journalist currently serving as the Pentagon correspondent for The New York Times. Prior to this role, she was the paper's White House correspondent in Washington, D.C. She joined The New York Times in 2004 as an assistant editorial page editor.
Cooper was a member of The New York Times reporting team that received the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting for their coverage of the 2014 Ebola virus epidemic in West Africa.
