Biography

Hein de Haas is a Dutch sociologist and geographer recognized for his extensive research on international migration. He currently holds positions as Professor of Sociology at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Professor of Migration and Development at Maastricht University. De Haas is a founding member and co-director of the International Migration Institute (IMI), which he initially co-directed at Oxford University and now directs from its base at the University of Amsterdam.
