Heather Grabbe serves as a Senior Fellow at Bruegel, a think-tank located in Brussels, Belgium. In this role, she conducts research on the political economy of the climate transition. Her work specifically investigates how this transition influences Europe's international relations and external policies.

Since 2021, Grabbe has also held the position of Visiting Professor at University College London.
