Heather Cox Richardson is an American historian and Professor of History at Boston College, where her courses cover topics such as the American Civil War, the Reconstruction Era, the American West, and the Plains Indians. She previously held teaching positions at MIT and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Richardson earned her AB, MA, and PhD from Harvard University, studying under historians David Herbert Donald and William Gienapp.
