Harshil Mathur is the CEO and co-founder of Razorpay. He co-founded the company in early 2014 with Shashank Kumar, driven by the mission to simplify payments after observing the state of online payments in India. Prior to founding Razorpay, Mathur worked as a Wireline Field Engineer at Schlumberger.

Razorpay operates as a neobanking company and has received backing from investors including GIC, Sequoia Capital, Ribbit Capital, Matrix Partners, Tiger Global, and Y Combinator.
