Biography

Harriet Ruth Harman, Baroness Harman, is a British politician and solicitor. She was first elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Peckham (now Camberwell and Peckham) in 1982. In 2007, she was elected as the Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.

Throughout her career, Harman has held several key positions within the government. She has served as Chair of the Labour Party, Leader of the House of Commons, Lord Privy Seal, and Minister for Women and Cabinet Minister for Equality.
