Biography

Harald Uhlig is a German macroeconomist and currently holds the position of Bruce Allen and Barbara Ritzenthaler Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago, a role he has held since 2007. He previously served as the chairman of the Department of Economics from 2009 to 2012. His academic journey includes a Diplom in mathematics from Technische Universität Berlin in 1985 and a doctoral degree in economics from the University of Minnesota in 1990, where his Ph.D.
