Hanson Wang is involved in coding agents research at OpenAI. His team at OpenAI was responsible for the launch of the Codex agent and Codex CLI. Prior to his work at OpenAI, Wang co-founded Arcwise, a startup focused on data/SQL agents.

Arcwise received backing from Village Global and Sequoia Arc. Earlier in his career, Wang served as a machine learning engineer at Meta.
