Gregory George Garre is an American lawyer known for his distinguished career in both public service and private practice. He served as the 44th U.S.
Solicitor General from June 2008 to January 2009, a role in which he successfully argued cases before the Supreme Court, including Baze v. Rees and Winter v. Natural Resources Defense Council.
He is noted as the only person to have held the positions of Assistant, Principal Deputy, Acting, and U.S. Solicitor General.
