Edward Miner Lamont Jr., known as Ned Lamont, is an American politician and businessman currently serving as the 89th Governor of Connecticut since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he began his political career as a Greenwich selectman from 1987 to 1989. Lamont was the Democratic nominee for the United States Senate in 2006 and ran for governor in 2010.
