Gina Raimondo is an American politician and businesswoman who served as the 40th United States Secretary of Commerce from 2021 to 2025. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served as the 75th Governor of Rhode Island from 2015 to 2021, becoming the first woman to hold the position. Before her federal appointment, Raimondo was elected General Treasurer of Rhode Island in 2010, where she focused on reforming the state's public employee pension system during her first year in office.
