Gideon Levy is an Israeli journalist and author, born in Tel Aviv in 1953. He is widely recognized for his opinion pieces and a weekly column published in the newspaper Haaretz, which frequently focus on the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories. His articles on human rights in these territories have earned him several prizes, including Israel's top award for journalism, the Sokolov Award, in 2021.
