Ghislaine Noelle Marion Maxwell, born on December 25, 1961, in France, is a British former socialite and convicted child sex offender. She was raised in Oxford, England, and attended Balliol College, Oxford, graduating in 1985 with a degree in Modern History with Languages. During the 1980s, Maxwell was a prominent figure in London's social scene.

Maxwell worked for her father, media proprietor Robert Maxwell, until his death in 1991.
