Carl Pei Yu, a Chinese-born Swedish entrepreneur, was born in Beijing in 1989 and grew up in Sweden. He began pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at the Stockholm School of Economics in 2008 but left in 2011 to enter the Chinese smartphone industry. His early career included an internship at Nokia in 2010, followed by a role in Meizu's marketing team in 2011, after his fan website about the company caught their attention.
