Biography

Dr. George Theocharides serves as the Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) and is also the Chairman of the Risk Standing Committee (RSC) for the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). He previously held the position of Chairman for the Committee for Economic and Markets Analysis (CEMA) from March to December 2022. Prior to his current role, he was CySEC's Vice Chairman from July 2020 to September 2021 and had served as a CySEC Board member.
