George Tharenou is the Chief Economist for Australia & NZ and Head of Asia Economic Research at UBS. He has held the position of Chief Economist at UBS for Australia and NZ since 2006, where he has been ranked as the number one Chief Economist in the region.

Prior to his current roles at UBS, Tharenou gained experience as an Analyst in Financial Markets at the Reserve Bank Of Australia and as an Economist at Queensland Treasury.
