George S. Tavlas is a Greek-American economist. He holds the position of Alternate to the Governor of the Bank of Greece for the European Central Bank, a role that involves participation in the ECB Governing Council. Additionally, Tavlas is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University.
