He serves as the executive chef for multiple restaurants across New York City, Atlantic City, and Miami, including The National, The Lamb's Club, and Tudor House. Zakarian is also a familiar face on the Food Network, appearing as a recurrent judge on shows like Chopped and 24 Hour Restaurant Battle, and as a competitor on The Next Iron Chef, which led to his opportunity to join Iron Chef America.
