Biography

Geoffrey Irving serves as the Chief Scientist at the UK AI Security Institute (AISI), a position he has held since 2024.

Prior to his current role, Irving was a Director at DeepMind from October 2019 to December 2023. His career also includes serving as a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI from July 2017 to September 2019, and as a Software Engineer at Google Brain from August 2015 to July 2017.
