Geoffrey Brian West is a British theoretical physicist and the Distinguished Shannon Professor at the Santa Fe Institute. Born in Taunton, Somerset, England, he is recognized for his extensive work on a scientific model of cities, known as urban scaling, and for his research into biological issues such as the allometric law and other power laws in biology.
