Gaston Gelos is a German-Uruguayan economist who serves as Deputy Head of the Monetary & Economic Department and Head of Financial Stability. He is also a Member of the Bank's Senior Management team. His expertise spans macroeconomics, monetary policy, international capital flows, and financial stability, supported by extensive research and policy experience.

Gelos joined the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 1998.
