Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from 2021 to 2025, following his nomination by President Joe Biden. Prior to this, Gensler was the 11th chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) under President Barack Obama, serving from 2009 to 2014.
