Gan Kim Yong is the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Trade and Industry, and Chairman of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, having been appointed to these roles on May 15, 2024. In these capacities, he contributes to Singapore's economic and trade policies and oversees its central bank functions.
Previously, Gan served as Minister for Health from May 2011 to May 2021.
