Biography

Gabrielle Hamilton is an American chef and author. She was the chef and owner of the acclaimed restaurant Prune in the East Village in New York City, and is the author of the critically acclaimed memoir *Blood, Bones, and Butter*.

Hamilton opened Prune in 1999, despite having no formal restaurant experience or culinary school training. Her 30-seat restaurant garnered widespread acclaim from diners, critics, and chefs, earning a spot in the Bib Gourmand section of Michelin's 2014 New York guide.
