Biography

Frederik Pleitgen is a German journalist and a correspondent for CNN International. Born in Cologne on August 19, 1976, he is the son of German journalist Fritz Pleitgen, former director of public broadcaster Westdeutscher Rundfunk.

Pleitgen pursued his education in North American studies at the University of Bonn and Free University Berlin, and furthered his journalism studies for a year at New York University's School of Journalism.
