Frederick Jay Ramsdell is an American immunologist and Nobel Prize laureate, recognized for his foundational work in peripheral tolerance. As of 2025, he serves as a Scientific Advisor at Sonoma Biotherapeutics, a biotechnology company he co-founded.
Ramsdell was born on December 4, 1960, in Elmhurst, Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and cell biology from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in 1983.
