Franziska Ohnsorge serves as the World Bank Chief Economist for South Asia. In this capacity, she is responsible for directing the research program focused on critical economic issues within the region, aiming to inform policy discussions and World Bank operations.

Before assuming her current role, Ohnsorge was a Manager at the World Bank's Development Economics Vice Presidency, where she led the production of the flagship Global Economic Prospects report.
