Frank Mugisha is a Ugandan LGBTQ+ advocate and the Executive Director of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG). Born on June 17, 1979, he is recognized globally for his work, earning accolades such as being a TIME100 honoree in 2024, the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award, and the Thorolf Rafto Memorial Prize in 2011. He also serves as a Fellow at Columbia's Institute of Global Politics and was a 2014 nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize.
