Frank-Walter Steinmeier is a German politician who has served as President of Germany since 2017. He was re-elected for a second and final term on February 13, 2022. Prior to his presidency, he held prominent positions as Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2005 to 2009 and again from 2013 to 2017, and as Vice-Chancellor of Germany from 2007 to 2009.

Steinmeier is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and holds a doctorate in law.
