Biography

Francis X. Suarez is an American lawyer and politician who has served as the 43rd Mayor of Miami since 2017. He is the first Miami-born mayor and the son of former Miami mayor Xavier Suarez.

A member of the Republican Party, he was re-elected in 2021. Prior to his mayoral tenure, Suarez served as a member of the Miami City Commission for District 4 for eight years, from 2009 to 2017.
