Francisco Rafael Sagasti Hochhausler is a Peruvian engineer, academic, politician, and author who served as the President of Peru from November 2020 to July 2021. His presidency, termed a “transitional and emergency government,” followed a period of political instability, including the controversial impeachment of President Martín Vizcarra and the resignation of President Manuel Merino amidst mass protests.
