Biography

Felipe VI, born Felipe Juan Pablo Alfonso de Todos los Santos de Borbón y Grecia on January 30, 1968, is the current King of Spain, having reigned since June 19, 2014. He is the third child and only son of Prince Juan Carlos of Spain and Princess Sophia of Greece and Denmark, who later became King and Queen of Spain.

Felipe was officially proclaimed Prince of Asturias in 1977 and formally sworn in as heir in 1986.
