Farnam Jahanian serves as the 10th president of Carnegie Mellon University, a position he was appointed to in March 2018. Prior to his presidency, he held several leadership roles at CMU, including interim president, provost and chief academic officer from May 2015 to June 2017, and vice president for research starting in 2014. Before joining CMU, Jahanian led the National Science Foundation Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) from 2011 to 2014.
