Évariste Ndayishimiye, born on 17 June 1968 in Musama, Burundi, is a Burundian general and politician. He began studying law at the University of Burundi but fled in 1995 during the inter-ethnic violence of the Burundian Civil War (1993–2005). He joined the rebel National Council for the Defense of Democracy – Forces for the Defense of Democracy (CNDD–FDD), rising through its militia and presiding over its military activities.
